Covered in deep snow, the mountain world appears sparkling and serene from Männlichen’s winter-walking paths. Winter walking lets you take time to admire the stunning snowscape, to gaze at the glorious white giants and worship winter sunshine. A short but rewarding uphill path leads from the summit station to the Männlichen peak (2343m). Another easy, well-prepared path runs from the Männlichen summit station down to Holenstein intermediate station, walking time approximately 1 hour. From here you can either continue winter walking down to Grindelwald or take the aerial gondola. A wonderful winter-walking path leads from Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg. The 2-hour walk crosses the nature reserve of Arvengarten, with its imposing old mountain stone pines. Kleine Scheidegg is then reached by a 30-minute uphill hike – or an easy ride on the Arven chairlift.
