You needn't be as sure-footed as a mountain goat to hike the Chamois Trail. The journey is the reward on this wildlife-themed adventure.
Did you know that herds of chamois populate the steep slope between the Männlichen plateau and Wengen? It's well worth bringing along a set of binoculars and enough time for wildlife watching. From Männlichen, the Chamois Trail descends to Parwengi. From here you have two options: a gentle ascent by way of Steinenwald and Chilchenstein to Wengen or, if you prefer, a steeper descent to the Äusseren Allmend.
