Mountain cableways

Whether you opt to glide up to Männlichen on the gondola cableway from Grindelwald or on the aerial cableway from Wengen, both journeys are packed with thrills and stunning scenery. The top stations are located close to the Männlichen Mountain Guest House.

Grindelwald-Männlichen Gondola Cableway

The state-of-the-art 10-seater gondola cableway of the D-Line ropeway generation from Doppelmayr/Garaventa takes guests up to Männlichen in a very short time: The journey time is now only 19 minutes. The new cableway brings immense benefits for all Maennlichen guests: 111 gondolas double the transport capacity from the previous 900 to 1,800 guests per hour. The public transport connection provided directly by the «Berner Oberland Bahn» with the station "Grindelwald Terminal", provides a significant increase in quality for the numerous summer and winter guests. The entire new terminal in Grindelwald, as well as the intermediate and top stations on Maennlichen, are wheelchair-accessible and without thresholds.

Wengen-Männlichen Aerial Cableway

Two spacious 75-passenger cabins transport you in comfort from Wengen to Männlichen. It takes just under five minutes to climb the 947 metres to Männlichen – precious time you can invest in admiring one of the world's most scenic mountain vistas. With a little luck, you might even see the thundering waters of the Staubbach Falls. Since it first opened in 1954, the Wengen-Männlichen Aerial Cableway has carried locals and visitors from all over the world year in, year out.
Since 2018, you can even ride on our open-air balcony in summer.
